ONE PERCENT - UPPER EAST SIDE

NEW YORK - JUNE 2022

This series of images was shot during my art residency at the School of Visual Arts, in June 2022.
I spent two weeks walking and observing - every day from 10 am to 6 pm - the people of this privileged neighborhood.
My goal ? Take a closer look at one of the most expensive zip codes, home to the One Percent of the wealthiest people in the world. I tried to get in, but not surprisingly, the doors remained closed. So I observed, quietly, on the streets, and documented what I was seing.

The exhibition showed 112 photographs, cut out and collaged on the walls, as well as a map showing some data (demographics, life expectancy, income…), six still lives and a short film entitled Madison, also shot during the same period.
