bye bye babylon

The city of Miami has, in the past years, gone through major and paradoxical changes. While already facing major disruptions from climate change and sea level rise, increasingly violent flooding, failing sceptic systems, climate driven displacements... Miami metro area alone witnessed the largest inflow of any city across the United States in 2022. The money is pouring in. Billionaires are relocating from New York and Los Angeles, lured by the warmer climate and no income tax. it’s a dream. In 2020, the Jills Zeder Group sold more than $1.2 billion in homes, more than any other real estate company in the country.

In this series, I question this intensifying social divide towards climate change, in a world where information is so easy to get, and where yet so few seem to be aware of the impact of their choices on the environment, on nature and on humans. This series is the second entitled Bye Bye Babylon, and the fifth of a series dedicated to Miami, where I currently live. Like messages in a bottle.
